Indeed, it’s been a lot of time, the result of being a solo dev making two games at once, writing in two languages... and above all, doing this writing with the utmost care and detail, because well, I’m not satisfied with less than that.
The process of translating manually is tedious and time-consuming, especially when I am so attentive to detail, although I understand that this hardly serves as an excuse for many players. Anyway, and even if I’m not too much of an enthusiastic follower of the new fad, I’m confident that, with the advent of AI, sooner or later we devs will have in our hands APIs or the like designed for Ren'Py, with which translating enormous scripts will be almost a piece of cake. Of course, the result won’t be the optimum of a classic manual process, and editing phases carried out by us humans will still be needed at the end of the day. But it has already been proven that what an AI spits out is still a much better result than those obtained with the traditional MTL methods, and I can foresee that this will be useful at least to calm the anxieties of the most impatient players... or so I hope.
In the meantime, I continue with my patient writing, as always. Right now, my focus is on Chapter 6 of my other game, “Monster Girls: the Advent”, in its Spanish version. But hopefully, those translations will see the light of day sooner or later. I wish for all users out there, regardless of the language they speak, to be able to enjoy my visual novels.
Tranquilo, no te preocupes...
hey Ras,Im sorry I had some tech issues with my pc but im back now and ive started translating again so i should be done soon butplease contact me at my new email i use for vns cyberwiredragonparadox@gmail.com if you have any questions or concerns please contact me there also you can send me anything regarding the vns, yours truly, Ace C
hey Ras Algehe, can you give me some tips on how to make a visual novel since I know the basics but I’d like to know more than the basics without going to school
I’m almost done with what you sent me so can you send me the scripts for everything up to current Spanish and it’s a rough translation but I want to help also just put me in the credits and I’ll be happy but please use the name Ace Demon it’s my name I plan to use when I make my own visual novels
You can respond in either English or Spanish i will gladly translate it up to current also it will give me some experience because i eventially want to make my own vn
Currently, there’s still no estimated date for that release. Also, I’m not sure whether you mean you understand some Spanish and hence you can personally handle the corresponding version of the game. Maybe, if you know some way to obtain an automated translation in-game, by all means let us know, since it could come in handy for many people while proper translation is in progress. Or maybe you are volunteering to translate some of the script? Of course, you’d be welcome, just reach out to me.
It is, though I’m not focused in the English version at the moment. Currently, I’m writing the first endings of the Spanish script (in the Naho/Yabuki branch). As the climax of these storylines, it’s quite a sizable and demanding work, so it will still take a while. Not to mention that I also have my second game, “Monster Girls: the Advent”, to take care of.
It’s a very busy period right now, so I still can’t estimate a precise timeline. But eventually, of course, I will keep on with the English counterpart of the script of “And now, time to study”.
Been replaying TTS, following the science club route.
Couple of things.
When being taught basic Volleyball moves by Reiko, she comments on Naoto's "complexion" and movements. Complexion is mostly about skin colour and condition. Physique might be a better match to the intent.
I won't argue it here, but I point out you could buy yourself a ripper of an argument in physics circles by asserting that life defies entropy. That's a pretty controversial point of view, and there's a ton of counter-argument to that stance. A lot depends on the timing and where you draw your boundaries and if you get them just right, life appears to reduce entropy for a while. But the case that entropy, over all and over long times, just grows without limit is pretty convincing, life or no life.
Gloves and acids are definitely a safety thing. The wrong glove gives a false sense of security in protecting hands from a spill. For some acids, some gloves provide no effective protection, being eaten through quickly or even bursting into flame. In the case of an acid spill, you could easily do more damage to the victim getting the glove off than if you just flood the injured area with water. Many labs have safety showers for just such a purpose in case delicate parts like eyes are impacted.
YouTube's NileRed, who knows a thing or two about chemistry, looked at some common gloves vs conc HNO3. You can see it here: NileRed:conc HNO3 vs gloves There's another NileRed video (re-uploaded by someone else) where NileRed pours acids of various types on his bare hands (Do not try this yourself anyone who reads this). See it here: Acid vs hands Scary but pretty convincing.
Information on which glove to use for reasonable protection can be readily found in several places, this is one for example: Safety Glove compatibility
True, the entropy issue is yet another example that very few things in the world, or the universe for that matter, are just black or white. Certainly, the balance in every system always results in the end in an increase of entropy, and life doesn't counter that. It's good to be aware of all this information, even when, of course, a game generally doesn't need to deepen more than necessary in these issues, and most players themselves won't even feel the need to. Likewise, it's unlikely that a group of physics scholars will gather around a visual novel to discuss in depth this or other issues. If that ever happens, I'll gladly join a debate with them. But I think we agree this is not the point here.
Thanks as well for your contribution in the gloves and corrosive chemicals issue. The idea is pretty much what you mention, and delving into this makes necessary to warn people that this can be dangerous to test in real life, as you emphasized.
Hi! I'm glad you liked my game. It's indeed in development, though it's a rather slow one. Right now I'm working on the Spanish version, as well as my other game, so it'll take a while before the English version of "And now, time to study" goes forward. Pretty much what it entails to be a solo developer, I'm afraid...
Anyway, I hope you enjoyed the game thus far, and thank you very much for your words. Feel free to comment whatever anytime.
Computer taking longer than expected, been busy, just wondering when the estimated release date for next version will come out, and if you need to reach out to other vn players I'd suggest you use Patreon
Hi! It's nice to greet you again. Don't worry, I hope your computer can get fixed sooner than later.
As for the next version of the game, I'm right now working on the Spanish one, which will take a bit long because I'm writing one of the endings of the story at last (and this will include a lot of different events, an unprecedented amount so far). I can't make an accurate estimate, but this is still months away at the least... as is the English version, which could possibly arrive sooner depending on how much time I take translating chapter 4 of my other game, "Monster Girls: the Advent" (the other task that occupies me now).
Also, I'm not in a special need to reach out to more VN players, and in fact I've never been, as this activity is, in essence, a hobby. For that same reason, I'm not considering Patreon or any other similar platform at the moment. Needless to say, monetization is not my goal either, at least for now. I'm more than satisfied just sharing the fruits of my enthusiastic work in a few sites like this, and talking with the fans that are genuinely interested in my games; fans who come to me out of pure will and shared interests, instead of me actively pursuing them with a more or less aggressive advertising.
Anyway, I appreciate your suggestions, and it will be a pleasure to keep in touch with you.
It's been over a year but I remember this game as one of the first VNs (and itch.io games) I played after Katawa Shoujo. I'm so glad to see it's still being worked on. I had forgotten about it since I was so busy with college that I didn't even remember what this was called until I finally had time to come back to itch.io. I checked my notifications and what do I see? A mini essay responding to a comment I made, and voila I'm back!
PS I'm quite pleased to see there is a meaningful choices tag for this game. Keep up the good work!
Thank you very much, and welcome back! Yes, I remember you, and I'm glad you have time to show up around here again!
Indeed, the "Meaningful choices" tag is a must in my games... because, in turn, it's sadly disappearing from too many other visual novels (whether their authors or companies admit it or not), practically making some of them unworthy of such a name. I certainly talked about it in detail in the mini essay you refer to, and those are still and will be the standards I follow.
Hope you enjoy the current version of "And now, time to study", and sure, I'll keep investing in it the same efforts and, more importantly, the same or even more enthusiasm.
Hi! But of course I remember you! Your messages are among the most pleasant and encouraging around here. And believe it or not, I sometimes find myself wondering if I'll ever see them again. So yeah, glad to have news from you yet again, and thank you for following my endeavors!
Well, I'm telling you, in this day and age, it's not so strange to feel the urge to type messages to "random strangers we've never met in person"... truth be told, that stopped being strange long ago. You just have to take a look around you. More and more, you don't need at all to meet anyone in person, not even once, in order to build some sort of friendly exchange with them. That being a good or a bad thing, or being simply another casual thing in this world, well, that's entirely another issue... I don't think it's all that bad, especially when it's about sharing the object of our enjoyment.
As always, thank you for your kind words and wishes. I'm doing fine around here, putting things together slowly but surely for the next update... which will arrive pretty soon, I'm glad to say. Certainly, your message couldn't have reached in a better moment. We can get ready to see a bit more of the game translated...
Hi! As of now, there are no endings with the girls or anything of the sort, not even in the Spanish version, because the game is still in development (and will be for quite a while). At most, you can follow a few different routes to see events that are unique to some of the girls. Likewise, I don't have a guide per se, but if you are interested in seeing the specific events of a certain girl, I can provide some pointers or tell you the exact choices you need to make. So as not to spoil things to other players, you can just give me some private contact info, and I'll be happy to oblige.
Hello. Wow! The truth is this is the best game I have played, I can say that it is even the best game in the world !!! His story is wonderful, his characters, his settings, the music, everything is great! I congratulate you on your work and thank you so much for bringing us this great game and for trying to bring us new updates as soon as possible. And I also wanted to ask you a question, I already finished all the routes, the one from the science club and the one from the volleyball club, and I really liked Reiko's route, I wanted to know if at the end, of any of all the routes, Reiko-san and Naoto-san are going to end up together as a couple, because the truth is I really like their story, it is my favorite, is my favorite couple in the game. Thank you!!!
Hi, and thank you so much for such kind words! I'm happy to know that people like you are enjoying my game to this extent, and truthfully, I can't help but feeling a bit bad sometimes for not being able to bring you all updates more often. Nonetheless, I'll keep trying my best, because, above all, writing my games is to me an enjoyment in and of itself.
Regarding your question, rest assured: Reiko-san is, indeed, one of the main heroines of the story, and I'm certainly planning for her to have a couple of happy endings with Naoto... if you play your cards well, that is! In fact, it will be possible to reach such endings in both branches of the story, science and volleyball. I'm guessing you played the Spanish version of the visual novel, which has already three Acts in the science branch, so surely you have a good insight of things at this stage... but the best is yet to come!
Greetings, and if you have any other questions, suggestions, or you simply feel like talking more about this, I'll always be at your disposal.
Thanks for answering my question, and as for the updates don't feel bad, you are the only person who is working on the development of this game and I know that it is very difficult to bring constant updates since it takes a lot of work , in addition, each new update brings a lot of new and interesting story with amazing quality.
I'm very happy that Reiko and Naoto are going to have several happy endings together, it's amazing, thanks!.
If I played the Spanish version, and the truth in the branch of science the last act left me a little sad, hahaha. And you're right, the best is yet to come! I will eagerly await the next update.
Currently, the English version has 145,885 words, but the final one is still far away and I can't make an accurate estimate of the length that the complete game will have. The Spanish version, which is the most advanced, has right now a total of 584,897 words.
Hi, that's great news! Hit me up when you're ready, because translation has been advancing and I probably will assign you a different task than the last time.
Will do, thanks and I'm replaying the spanish version on my Android, I'm wondering, if you noticed the spelling errors, there are 3-12 every few lines, also I'd like to stay in the loop of things for this game
What part of the game are you playing? Could you maybe point out some of those errors to me? I'm not sure what they could be. Maybe Android compatibility issues?
Talk to me via PM about this, if possible. I think you have my e-mail.
Rn I'm playing version 1.54 and just by reading some of the text it doesn't make sense here's an example when you translate it: Reiko: Goode Valve, keep up the Good work.
Also a lot of the words are just thrown together, so when you have time can you please fix the errors, thanks for everything
I'm not sure I understand. All the Spanish scripts have been thoroughly revised, regarding grammar, syntax and even coherence between lines, and no one else reported me something like this. Seems to me that some Android versions could be giving problems. Is what you write a machine translation? Instead of roughly translating Spanish sentences and writing them here, one or two screenshots of your game would be more helpful for me to try to figure out what's happening.
We'll probably be able to take care of this better if we continue talking in depth privately about the issue; so anyway, I'm going to e-mail you.
Man. The first time I played this was nine months ago. Damn. I feel much older all of a sudde------- IS THIS A GRAY HAIR DE FU-
There's no excuse for my random outbreaks of insanity. I either need more coffee or I need more coffee.
Otherwise how ya been? Whats been up? Etc etc. I'm not even gonna ask for a update cause someone else has already done it earlier. Plus I'm more genuinely curious to hear how ya been. So neat stuff xD.
Maybe not the same energy as what I normally give off but hey cut me some slack its 4:30am.
Haha, don't worry. I'm glad to see that your energy is still quite noticeable so late at night, and your outbreaks of insanity provide us with just the right amount of spice. Random or not, they're always welcome :D
To the point. I'm doing well, writing some more of the story and recruiting the help of two other translators for both my projects. Right now I'm also busy with some unrelated commissions as a writer and programmer. Nonetheless, I can say that, after some hardships, the first English translation draft for the 9th day script of "And now, time to study" (which is a pretty damn long one) is finally complete thanks to VSSValdez, one of those translators. Now I just have to polish it before release, but this is still an elaborate task and will take some more time, especially with my current activities. The end of the journey, anyway, seems closer now.
Take care and stay tuned. I'll try to show some screenshots of the progress in upcoming devlogs now and then.
I assume you mean the English version, which is being worked on at a slow but steady pace. One of my translators fell ill and still has to recover (though he's done a pretty good job so far); the other one needs to acquire a PC to work properly. The worldwide lockdown isn't really helping either way. Now I'm hoping to get the assistance of a third person who claims to be available.
As always, I can't mention exact dates, but things are being done with the calmness, care, and also limitations associated with a free/hobby project. I can't really tell much more, and I apologize for that, but I hope the next version will be coming out sooner or later.
Nah no need to apologise. Regardless of the game being free or funded it should never be rushed and the people should never feel rushed.
It's great to hear that things are being handled with calmness. I really hope your team and yourself are staying safe and living a balanced, healthy lifestyle, especially your translator - I wish for him to have a smooth recovery and good rest.
Thank you, your words really mean a lot to us! Likewise, I wish the best for all of you following my games. One thing's for sure: especially these days, I'll keep enjoying the writing of my stories, and as I hope you all will do, enjoying visual novels in general. I'm hoping to bring eventually a new version of "And now, time to study" with the due quality in translation, so you can enjoy the experience to the fullest.
XD Well, at least now we're advancing with that translation. Confinement and whatnot give us more time to invest in games development these days. Stay safe and tuned!
Hiya! Thank you very much for your messages. I certainly could use some help here! Right now, day 9 of the game is being translated by a kind collaborator. It's a rather big file, so having two fellows working on it would surely speed up things.
If you're interested in helping, you can contact me via Discord (rasalaghe#0005) to further discuss things. If you prefer other methods of communication or don't have Discord, you can perhaps leave your e-mail address.

Rereading some of my old comments felt weird in a good way mind you.
I recently only came back to itch and was looking through my old noties and found this.
Weird to see it now again but honestly enjoyable.
Hope to hear from you soon

Hi, long time no see! Nice to greet you again.
Indeed, it’s been a lot of time, the result of being a solo dev making two games at once, writing in two languages... and above all, doing this writing with the utmost care and detail, because well, I’m not satisfied with less than that.

Cheers and see you around!
editing a few translation errors and after I fix what I missed I’ll send the file
Ok!
Me gusta 😅
Tranquilo, no te preocupes...

Understood. Regards!
hey Ras Algehe, can you give me some tips on how to make a visual novel since I know the basics but I’d like to know more than the basics without going to school
For specific and more personal matters like this, try not to use this thread. You can e-mail me directly.
I wrote you another e-mail answering this request.
I’m almost done with what you sent me so can you send me the scripts for everything up to current Spanish and it’s a rough translation but I want to help also just put me in the credits and I’ll be happy but please use the name Ace Demon it’s my name I plan to use when I make my own visual novels
Hi, I PMd you. Check your e-mail.
OK thank you ill send you the file when I finish translating
You can respond in either English or Spanish i will gladly translate it up to current also it will give me some experience because i eventially want to make my own vn

Is there an estimated release date for next English version?I Can play the Spanish version I just have to translate it
Hi
Currently, there’s still no estimated date for that release. Also, I’m not sure whether you mean you understand some Spanish and hence you can personally handle the corresponding version of the game. Maybe, if you know some way to obtain an automated translation in-game, by all means let us know, since it could come in handy for many people while proper translation is in progress. Or maybe you are volunteering to translate some of the script? Of course, you’d be welcome, just reach out to me.
Regards
Ras Alaghe
I know a little Spanish but right now I'm working on a program that could potentially make translation much easier and better than it is as of current
Oh, that's good news! I'll be looking forward to it.
Regards!
This game still alive
It is, though I’m not focused in the English version at the moment. Currently, I’m writing the first endings of the Spanish script (in the Naho/Yabuki branch). As the climax of these storylines, it’s quite a sizable and demanding work, so it will still take a while. Not to mention that I also have my second game, “Monster Girls: the Advent”, to take care of.
It’s a very busy period right now, so I still can’t estimate a precise timeline. But eventually, of course, I will keep on with the English counterpart of the script of “And now, time to study”.
We’ll keep in touch!
Ok thank you
Hi Dev,
Been replaying TTS, following the science club route.
Regards,
Thanks again for your insights.
Regards!
Does this have a volume 2 yet I am dying to play further
I'll keep at it. See you around!
Regards!
ok talk to you later and thanks for your reply
See you around!
Ya know its funny really.
Ive so many times been here thinking too myself. "Hey maybe i should pop him a hi, see how he is doing?".
And everytime i stop cause Im feeling down or in a lonely state.
Hell as I type this I've retyped this.
Do you even remember me from time too time?
I dont know why I'm typing this too a random stranger ive never met but eh.
Put on a mask about loving coffee and everyone will believe it. Weird how we accsept everything so easily.
Mah mah
Check ya around Ras
Goodluck with your life and projects. I genuinely hope for the best with you.
From Curv-
Until then... cheers!
some guide to get the finals with the girls:'3 pls
Cheers!
Haha if feels good to know 2 languages right now
Glad for you. Enjoy!
Hello.
See you!
Hello!.
Goodbye!
Thanks again, for your understanding as well as everything else. I'll keep at it!
What's the length, meaning, the number of words in total of the current and (maybe) final version of the story?
Currently, the English version has 145,885 words, but the final one is still far away and I can't make an accurate estimate of the length that the complete game will have. The Spanish version, which is the most advanced, has right now a total of 584,897 words.
I'm fixing my PC now so I can get translation done for the next section once that's finished
Cheers!
update??
I assume you mean the English version, which is being worked on at a slow but steady pace. One of my translators fell ill and still has to recover (though he's done a pretty good job so far); the other one needs to acquire a PC to work properly. The worldwide lockdown isn't really helping either way. Now I'm hoping to get the assistance of a third person who claims to be available.
As always, I can't mention exact dates, but things are being done with the calmness, care, and also limitations associated with a free/hobby project. I can't really tell much more, and I apologize for that, but I hope the next version will be coming out sooner or later.
Cheers and stay safe!
I wish you the best for your other endeavours,
All the best mate :)
Cheers!
I either need to learn spanish or uh. Uh.
error excuse not foundWell damn guess I gotta learn spanish
XD Well, at least now we're advancing with that translation. Confinement and whatnot give us more time to invest in games development these days. Stay safe and tuned!
How much do you have translated?
Greetings and thanks again!
I don't use Discord often, My email is:aren.weber20@gmail.com
Please send me the info on the project, if you need anything just let me know.
